Hello!  I’m Aimee.  My main gig is as a musician/producer/songwriter..  If there’s free time to be had (I know, I know- free time pppfft!) I catch gigs (famous, not famous, hyped and stumbled-upon) .  I have a bad habit of binging on bleak, dark television, books and movies in condense periods of time, usually late at night that causes me to under sleep, overthink and fuse daily life with the small screen.  I started this blog to let people know the going-ons of my musical endeavours, but I’m quite happy to have it hijacked by other’s musical exploits, film, art and general musings on life as we know it- I don’t find any benefit in saying awful things about other artist’s doing their thing- the old adage of ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say’ is certainly one that rings true to me, doesn’t mean I love everything I definitely do not!  However you can guarantee that anything I’m excited enough to write about – I genuinely adore .  Get in touch if you want to say ahoy!

Take electronica, mash it up with trip hop via jazz, funk and pop and you might find yourself in the electronic la-la land that is osh10 (aka Aimee Chapman). Starting with chameleon vocals, funked out bass, beats, synth and effects to create a sound that has been likened to everyone from Bjork and Portishead to the 70s funk of Parliament.  With  album ‘One Hundred to the Ground’ released in July 2011 and ‘Like a Lion in 2013’, Aimee has toured  Japan multiple times as well as Denmark, France, Canada and her right across her homeland Australia.

‘You just cannot help but adore osh10, and the crowd made her known of that with cheers, laughter, applause and murmurs and nods of approval. Her talent, her sharp sense of rhythm, her vocal and her passionate outlook towards life inspired the crowd to go anywhere with her.’

‘My Fave: My favorite this month is the unusual osh 10, that combines creative bass with the amazing vocals of Aimee Chapman. Using loops and effects, osh10 creates a full band sound.  Her delivery is very much her own, but it is reminiscent of Bjork or Canada’s Ember Swift, and her lyrics are pure poetry, dealing with relationships and inner awareness rather than Swift’s social-consciousness. This is definitely a group to watch. She has toured Canada, and there is hope that osh10 will find her way to the States soon’- Skope Magazine

Are you still running your blog? I noticed you haven’t posted in a couple of months, which is a shame! I just started a blog about music generally and, I don’t know, being-a-musician-and-stuff, and was excited to find another one like mine!

      Hey Mat,

I’m still here!! I’ve been locked away recording, going to concerts and listening to a bunch of new albums- but I do have a lot of posts waiting to be published- next couple of days should see quite a few new things up on the blog. Cheers, Aimee.
